Is there some habit that you want to change? For example, some people have trouble with controlling their weight; some want to stop smoking but don’t seem able to, while others can’t seem to stop biting their nails. There are many different bad habits that people have and want to change, yet they seem to keep falling back into the same old routine. Using The Omega Method, I can  help you create the change you want easily and quickly.
Every habit has some starting point. In many people, the initial reason for the habit is no longer an issue, but the habit has become ingrained so it continues to happen. In many cases, it is truly unconscious in both the cause and the behavior. People who smoke have told us they often have a lit cigarette in their mouth before they’ve even consciously thought of it, or they put down a cigarette, light another and then realize they already have a still lit cigarette in the ashtray. Some people may bite their nails when they are driving or bored without even thinking about it consciously.
Some people use their willpower to try to control or change a bad habit. However, it is usually our emotions which control our habits. The emotions lay within our unconscious mind, which is the most amazing supercomputer ever invented. It runs our body, stores our memories and learnings and our emotions. The willpower is in the conscious mind, which in comparison to the supercomputer that is our unconscious mind is a $2 pocket calculator. In order to make the changes you desire, you need to get the unconscious mind involved in the changes you want to make.
Many people try to change a behavior but find themselves falling back into their old patterns. In some cases, this is because the root cause of the habit is stored in the unconscious mind and has not been addressed. Some methods of changing habits deal only with the current behavior without addressing the root cause. For example, you might try to stop smoking by using a patch. In fact, this doesn’t even address the current behaviors. Many smokers light up a cigarette when they are bored or in situations they have been conditioned to smoke, such as with a cup of coffee or when driving. The patch doesn’t deal with any of these conditioned responses and does nothing to deal with what started the smoking in the first case.
Here are some common examples of habit changes and motivations:
Smoking—A common reason many people start smoking as a teenager is as a way either to fit in with the crowd or as a way to rebel against parents and authority. Years later, even though the need to fit in by smoking doesn’t exist (in fact, in today’s environment smoking separates you more and more in public); the program created in your unconscious mind that helps you fit in is still running. The unconscious mind is not the logical mind, so until you do something to change that program it will continue to draw you back to smoking. Our advanced methods deal not only with the original decisions that caused you to start smoking but help you easily and completely end the habit once and for all. The best part is that most of our clients report after their first session that they have no desire for cigarettes and they don’t feel any cravings for cigarettes or food. Being a non-smoker feels totally natural for them, even if they had been smoking for 20 or 30 years.

Weight Control—For people looking to control their weight, it also involves changing not just your current behaviors but also finding the root cause that started your problems with weight. For some people, eating and gaining weight is a protection or comfort for them. For others, being told they were fat causes them to eat too little and become dangerously thin. They may also suffer from body dysmorphia (seeing their body differently from how it really is), anorexia or other conditions.
Our approach looks at not just how a habit exists today but how it started and how it has changed over the years. We can then work with your conscious and unconscious to change the programming that started the habit and to also give you new strategies that eliminate the undesired habit once and for all.
If you have a habit you want to change, give us a call and we’ll show you how we can help you make that change quickly and easily.
